Mr. Helmut Burger has been newly appointed to the Synercore Executive Management Team, in the role as Group Executive for Bakery Sales in African Food Industries from the 1st March 2017.
Helmut is well known within the bakery industry, and as is the case with most exceptional artisans, his interest in bakery and milling started at an early age growing up in “koring boer” territory in Malmesbury. After matriculating at Swartland High School, Helmut studied towards his N.D. in Food Services Management at Cape College, before joining Pioneer Foods in 2001 as a learner baker. During his tenure at Pioneer, Helmut further qualified as baker through the SA Chamber of Baking and the prestigious American Institute of Baking (AIB).
In 2006 he became the Production Manager at Enterprise Bakery in Cape Town and in 2008 resigned to join Danisco South Africa as a Production Manager. Helmut started as a Production Manager in Danisco, however he was promoted several times within Danisco (later DuPont) to Factory Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager (Bakery) and General Manager Innovation (Bakery & Dairy). The justified promotion of Helmut, while working at Danisco / DuPont, is a tribute and testimony to his exceptional work ethic, knowledge and performance. His impressive CV confirm that there could be no doubt that Synercore has managed to invest in the best available local talent once again.
With Helmut’s appointment, Synercore recognises his abilities as exceptional leader and authority in his field of competency and as a dedicated team player.
