Freeze-dried fruit have been shown to preserve up to 90% of their nutritional content while still being able to deliver on all sensory attributes. By adding these powders to your daily diet, you can still enjoy the nutritional benefits as if you were consuming fresh fruit. For the new and improved formulation of Dear Body we have selected three superfood berries: Blueberry, Acai and Sea buckthorn. The carefully selected berry powders are all known to be nutrient-dense, have high antioxidant- and anti-inflammatory activity.
Blueberries are rich in flavonoids, proanthocyanidins and anthocyanins, which are known to be powerful antioxidants protecting the skin against free radicals. Anthocyanins also have strong anti-inflammatory effects. The proanthocyanidins can bind directly to collagen fibres, making them resistant to the action of collagenase enzymes. The collagenase enzymes are known to break the collagen peptide bonds which could lead to accelerating skin ageing. Blueberries are also rich in Vitamin C, which plays a role in natural collagen synthesis.
Acai berry contains many vital properties important in human nutrition and health. The berry itself is an excellent source of anthocyanins and antioxidants. Acai is a nutrient-dense berry that is also a great source of fibre, energy, minerals, and fatty acids (Omega-6 and Omega-9) and is being classified as a valuable functional food. It has been widely studied and can be found in a lot of anti-aging formulas. A lot of the research commends the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacity of this berry.
Sea buckthorn is rich in flavonoids, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids (Omega-3, 6, 9 and 7) and organic acids. This superfruit has antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. Sea buckthorn supports skin regeneration and repair. It is also known to contain the rare fatty acid, Omega-7, which is part of the natural structure of the skin and is required for skin regeneration and wound healing. Omega-7 has been found to improve skin hydration, structure, elasticity and showed anti-wrinkle benefits. Sea buckthorn also contains Omega-6 which is important for maintaining skin health, inflammation relief, and slowing down the ageing process. Sea buckthorn also promotes natural collagen synthesis.
